Bandlab x Mahogany Present: Molly Roberts
Earlier this year, we launched an exciting competition in collaboration with Bandlab, as part of their brand new, artist-centric service called ‘Bandlab Opportunities.’ This innovative platform connects creators of all levels with decision-makers in the music industry, offering various opportunities such as performances at events, submissions to record labels, and other promotional opportunities within media. Having previously worked with esteemed partners like Spinning’ Records, Fader, and NME, Bandlab joined forces with us at Mahogany for the third time, to run this competition.
As a part of this collaboration, we extended an exclusive opportunity to the Bandlab community: the chance to record a session with us. The response was overwhelming, with thousands of applications pouring in. Together with Bandlab, we meticulously reviewed each submission, ultimately selecting two exceptional artists to record sessions with us. The first artist, Molly Roberts, amazed us with her rendition of the track ‘Before’ on an upright piano, set in the serene British countryside.
Remaining true to Mahogany’s commitment to promoting undiscovered talent, we chose Molly because we firmly believe she has an exciting and promising career ahead of her. Despite not having a manager or a label, Molly has pushed her music on radio, performed at stadiums, and demonstrated impressive songwriting capability, collaborating with some of the biggest names in the industry over the past year. Molly’s journey should serve as inspiration for countless unsigned artists, proving that with determination and perseverance, you can continue to grow and succeed.
